What I do

Ceremonies

Six kinds of ceremony, all written from a blank page, all led by me from start to finish.

Some of these are the happiest days of your life and some are the hardest. The work behind them is the same. I listen properly, I write it myself, and I turn up early on the day so that nobody in your family has to think about the logistics.

The process

From first phone call to the day itself

  1. 01

    A conversation

A phone call or a coffee. You tell me what you are thinking, I tell you how I work and what it costs. There is no charge for this and no pressure at the end of it.

  2. 02

    The planning meeting

Two hours or so, usually at your kitchen table. This is the nosy part, and it is where the ceremony really comes from.

  3. 03

    The first draft

I send you the full script. You mark it up, cross things out, send it back. We do that as many times as it takes until it reads right to you.

  4. 04

    The rehearsal

Optional, and worth it. A walk through at the venue, or over the phone with anyone who is reading, so nobody is guessing on the day.

  5. 05

    The day

I arrive early, sort out the sound, calm the nervous ones, and keep everything to time. You get a bound copy of the words afterwards.

Shall we have a chat about it?

No forms to fill in first and no charge for the conversation. Tell me roughly what you have in mind and I will tell you honestly whether I am the right person for it.
